Laboratory Technician – Quality Control

About the role

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join Austek Roads in Yatala, Queensland. The successful candidate will support our quality assurance programme by testing asphalt, aggregates and recycled materials to ensure they meet both internal specifications and external customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality control testing on asphalt, aggregates and recycled materials.
• Ensure all test results comply with internal quality standards and external regulations.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to maintain product integrity.
• Follow and promote strict safety procedures in the laboratory.

Required profile

• Current driver’s licence.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Willingness to work night shifts when required.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Required skills

• Quality control testing of asphalt, aggregates and recycled materials.
• Knowledge of NATA testing standards.
• Experience with CMT (Crushed Material Testing) procedures.
• Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques.
