About the role
Macquarie University is looking for a Knowledge Specialist for its Research Program, based on campus. Reporting to the Research Program Manager within Service Improvement, you will work across a programme that brings diverse expertise together. This is a casual opportunity.
Key responsibilities

- Build and maintain SharePoint knowledge repositories, knowledge bases, FAQs, templates and guidance materials.
- Draft, edit, curate and publish knowledge articles, research insights, lessons learned, methodologies and research resources.
- Gather content from researchers and subject matter experts and turn it into clear, plain-language content.
- Maintain knowledge article trackers and publication schedules, and monitor milestones, risks, issues and deliverables.
- Carry out content reviews and audits to keep knowledge assets current and accurate.
- Test and refine search functionality (AI), keywords and user experience.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings, provide training and advance the adoption of knowledge management practice.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in Information Management, Research Management or a related discipline; equivalent experience also considered.
- Proven track record creating, editing and publishing knowledge articles, guidance materials and templates for varied audiences.
- Experience working with subject matter experts and stakeholders in complex or matrixed environments.
- Strong reporting, project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills, including preparing papers for governance forums.
- Ability to combine planning with day-to-day delivery, and experience facilitating workshops, training or communities of practice.
Required skills
- Hands-on experience with SharePoint, knowledge bases and content management systems.
- Search optimisation and user experience testing.
What we offer
- Casual position paid at $74.36 per hour (HEW 8) plus 25% casual loading and 12% superannuation.
- An on-campus location close to public transport.
To apply, submit an online application with a CV and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria; applications close on 30 October 2026.
