Kitchen Attendant

About the role

AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort and AVANI WELL are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Attendant to support kitchen operations on a casual basis. The role keeps the kitchen running smoothly, maintains cleanliness and hygiene standards, helps with food preparation and supports the cooks in serving high-quality meals to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Keep all kitchen areas and equipment clean and sanitised.
• Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment to safety standards.
• Assist cooks with assembling and preparing ingredients.
• Support the kitchen team so daily operations run smoothly.
• Comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and regulatory requirements.
• Help with stock control, ingredient storage and organisation of kitchen supplies.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months' experience in a similar kitchen or hospitality position.
• Currently studying Commercial Cookery or a relevant course is desirable.
• Friendly, positive attitude with professional presentation.
• Experience providing quality customer service.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working rights in Australia or New Zealand only.

Shift details and pay

• Casual position; part-time or full-time hours may be available depending on business needs.
• Rotating roster Monday to Sunday, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Hourly rates (excluding superannuation): Monday to Friday $33.85, Saturday $40.62, Sunday $47.39.
