Key Account Manager - Sydney

About the role

Milliken Flooring is looking for a Key Account Manager based in Sydney, Australia. The ideal candidate has strong experience and knowledge of the architectural specifications process and preferably knows the building materials industry. They should know the local architecture and design (A&D) industry well, be able to specify and sell through it, and build long-term relationships with key decision-makers. Flexible hours are needed to strengthen key relationships and secure specifications on must-win projects.

Key responsibilities

• Meet and exceed all revenue and growth goals assigned.
• Develop, plan and execute sales and marketing strategies within assigned A&D accounts.
• Build a detailed sales strategy for each client aimed at retention and expansion, and gain targeted market share.
• Promote the company brand in the marketplace and manage day-to-day account management.
• Identify winnable projects, fill and maintain a workable pipeline.
• Take part in industry events and networking.

Required profile

• 5+ years of direct industry sales experience.
• Located in Sydney, Australia.
• Strong understanding of the design process.
• Self-starter who works effectively with limited supervision, with strong personal presence and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable dealing with a wide range of customers, from technical to non-technical.

Required skills

• Excellent communication skills, including scripting presentations and public speaking.
• Planning, organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Use of technology such as social media, PowerPoint and CRM.
