Key Account Manager – Freight & Logistics

About the role

This relationship‑led Key Account Manager position supports complex B2B customers across transport, parcel, 3PL, 4PL and broader logistics networks. You will be the primary point of contact for tier‑one and tier‑two accounts, ensuring clear communication, rapid issue resolution, and proactive support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of key B2B freight and logistics customers.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day contact for customer communication, issues and service updates.
• Build strong relationships across customer sites, internal teams and carrier networks.
• Review service performance metrics such as DIFOT/OTIF, claims, ticket volumes and recurring issues.
• Prepare and lead regular account reviews, governance meetings and performance updates.
• Identify root causes of service issues and drive practical action plans.
• Coordinate with operations, customer service, carriers, systems, finance and commercial teams.
• Reduce escalations by staying close to customers and surfacing issues early.
• Implement process improvements to prevent repeat problems.

Required profile

• Experience managing B2B customer relationships in freight, transport, logistics, parcel, 3PL or 4PL environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Confidence engaging customers face‑to‑face, including on‑site visits.
• Commercial, practical approach to solving service and operational issues.
• Ability to work with service data, performance reporting and root‑cause analysis.
• Calm, firm and transparent style under pressure.
• Strong follow‑through, action tracking and meeting discipline.
• Ownership mindset – you do what you say you’ll do.
