Junior Software Engineer – Backend (Gaming Technology)

About the role

As a Junior Software Engineer you will join the Gaming Technology team to build, maintain and improve backend applications that power live gaming experiences. Working under the Software Engineering Lead, you will collaborate in an agile environment, gaining exposure to modern cloud and container technologies while contributing to system stability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Support and enhance APIs in production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across live systems.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and delivery cycles with engineers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to performance optimisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Early‑career engineer with a strong foundation in backend development.
• Curious, resilient and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
• Comfortable working on interrupt‑driven tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
• Interest in gaming and willingness to develop domain knowledge.

Required skills

• JavaScript backend development with Node.js.
• TypeScript programming.
• Building and supporting APIs and backend services.
• Debugging and troubleshooting production issues.
• Writing SQL queries and working with databases.
