Junior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Beaver Process Equipment is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its Perth team. The role provides exposure to product engineering, mechanical design, technical estimating and pre‑production engineering across the full product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and configure mechanical equipment and components for slurry and process piping systems, selecting materials, end connections, flange standards and dimensions.
• Develop manufacturing specifications, perform engineering calculations, and create 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD.
• Review customer piping specifications, assess manufacturability, and design custom tooling such as hose mandrels.
• Coordinate technical requirements with fabricators, suppliers and the workshop, and verify installations on‑site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Practical interest in product engineering, manufacturing and problem‑solving.
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
• Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, design calculations and relevant standards.
• Experience with slurry or process piping systems is highly regarded.
