Junior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Kick‑start your engineering career with KBR supporting complex Defence capabilities. You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain practical knowledge in configuration, certification, logistics and systems safety engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques under supervision.
• Assist in design of larger assignments and contribute to multidisciplinary design solutions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to formulate engineering change and configuration solutions.
• Use engineering applications and tools such as configuration, data analysis, modelling and design software.
• Work to the Navy Seaworthiness Framework, Authorised Engineering Organisation requirements and the Engineering Management Plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to obtain a Baseline Defence security clearance and ITAR clearance for relevant ship systems.
• Eligibility for an AGSVA security clearance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of configuration management.
• Understanding of certification management.
• Experience with logistics engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with systems safety engineering.
