Junior Consultant – Mining Planning & Closure

About the role

Join Okane’s Brisbane team as a Junior Consultant supporting integrated mine and closure planning. You will work with mining clients and multidisciplinary technical teams to develop practical environmental solutions from early‑stage planning through to relinquishment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and internal experts on diverse mine sites to design mine and tailings plans, cover systems, and field‑trial support.
• Participate in background reviews, conceptual model development, cost estimating, and preparation of technical documentation.
• Conduct site visits, material sampling programs, and assist with health, safety and environmental (HSE) assessments.
• Build professional relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, contributing to proposals and technical reports.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of mining processes, lifecycle and closure concepts.
• Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and time‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexibly across time zones.
