Japanese-Speaking Managed Service or Pre-Sales Engineer

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting a Japanese-speaking customer-oriented Managed Service or Presales Engineer for an IT solution provider based in Sydney CBD. The role supports the sales team through customer engagement, requirements gathering, solution design, technical proposals and pricing support. It is a full-time permanent position with a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to design, price and propose IT solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Take part in customer meetings (online and onsite) to gather requirements and present technical proposals.
• Prepare and deliver documentation such as Scope of Work, licensing requirements and cost estimates.
• Manage or support the presales process from initial customer engagement through solution design, proposal development, pricing and handover to the implementation team.
• Help create and maintain solution designs, technical proposals, Scope of Work documentation and handover materials for internal teams and customers.
• Provide timely reporting and escalate issues to management as needed.

Required profile

• A few years of experience in a presales, solution engineering or managed service role with direct customer engagement.
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, able to hold customer meetings, gather technical requirements, explain solutions and write business and technical documentation in both languages.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Understanding of networking concepts and technologies, equivalent to CCNA level.
• Preferred: enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routing, switching, network security), Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Intune), and cloud cybersecurity solutions (SASE, EDR, MDR, firewall, endpoint security).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong documentation and presentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Salary range: $80,000 - $140,000 per annum. Applications are made through the HOBAN Recruitment application process.
