IT Desktop Support Analyst (L1/L2) – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for an IT Desktop Support Analyst to join a leading Defence organisation in Newcastle. The role involves providing Level 1 and Level 2 support to end‑users in a secure environment, contributing to critical Defence projects while maintaining high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 desktop support for hardware, software and peripheral devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user incidents and service requests.
• Support deployment of desktop devices, applications, software packages and patches.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Assist with desktop imaging, system testing and documentation activities.
• Provide support during application rollouts and acceptance testing.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, requests and technical documentation.
• Contribute to system performance, stability and security.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an IT Desktop Support, Service Desk or Technical Support role.
• Strong experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for an AGSVA Security Clearance.
