IT Category Manager

About the role

The IT Category Manager reports to the Senior Category Manager – IT within the Procurement Team. You will work collaboratively to manage commercial engagements and drive value for the TPG Telecom Technology teams. The role partners closely with technology teams to establish and maintain vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the portfolio of IT categories and vendor engagements across the technology organisation, delivering optimal value.
• Identify and execute cost‑optimisation opportunities without compromising quality or service.
• Lead commercial negotiations and RFx processes to achieve best outcomes and uphold professional standards.
• Develop and maintain category strategies aligned with TPG’s business objectives.
• Own vendor contracts, conduct regular reviews, resolve disputes and ensure compliance.
• Support procurement transformation initiatives and system improvements.

Required profile

• Commercial degree or equivalent qualification (desirable).
• Proven ability to engage with key business stakeholders.
• Experience negotiating and managing complex supplier contracts.
• Experience leading RFx processes and understanding the full vendor lifecycle.
• Background in a purchasing/procurement environment with knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with a track record of delivering savings.
