Investment Operations Analyst

About the role

A recruiter is looking for an Investment Operations Analyst to join a client's team in Sydney. The role suits a motivated finance professional who wants broad exposure across investment operations, supporting a wide range of investment strategies and asset classes in both private and public markets. Working with the Investment Operations team, advisers, investment specialists and external stakeholders, you will help execute investment strategies, keep client portfolio records accurate and take part in projects that improve processes, efficiency and client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Investment Strategy Group and adviser teams in executing investment strategies across asset classes
• Monitor and process corporate actions so they are accurately and promptly reflected in client portfolios
• Liaise with external platform providers to manage off-platform assets
• Answer operational queries from advisers and help resolve issues with external stakeholders
• Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for approved investment funds
• Contribute to strategic projects by completing tasks, preparing documentation and supporting implementation
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and workflows
• Work with internal teams and external providers to meet operational requirements
• Keep a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, client confidentiality and operational standards

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce or a related discipline preferred
• Experience in investment operations, wealth management, funds management or a related financial services environment is advantageous
• Understanding of investment products, financial markets and asset classes, including private and public markets
• Proactive approach to process improvement and ability to work independently in a collaborative team

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication, reporting and problem-solving abilities
