Interpreter (English–Portuguese)

About the role

ACCIONA is a global leader in regenerative infrastructure, delivering a renewable energy transmission project in the Central West Orana region. The Interpreter will bridge communication between English‑speaking supervisors and Portuguese‑speaking crew members, ensuring safety and work instructions are clearly understood on site.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret between English and Portuguese during toolbox talks, pre‑start meetings and daily operations.
• Translate safety notices, procedures and work instructions so crews can follow them accurately.
• Support supervisors and crew leaders to communicate clearly with Portuguese‑speaking team members.
• Attend site inductions, training sessions and safety briefings to provide real‑time interpretation.
• Flag communication gaps early to prevent safety issues.
• Build trust with crews, encouraging questions and concerns.

Required profile

• Fluency in spoken and written English and Portuguese.
• Previous experience in construction, industrial or other high‑risk environments is highly regarded.
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety terminology in both languages.
• Clear, confident communication skills and ability to build rapport across diverse crews.
• Construction Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to stay calm and accurate when interpreting under pressure.
