Intern Pharmacist

About the role

CHQ is a specialist statewide hospital and health service dedicated to caring for children and young people across Queensland and northern New South Wales. The Intern Pharmacist will join the CHQ Pharmacy team to deliver high‑quality paediatric pharmacy services while developing professional skills under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality paediatric pharmacy services within CHQ HHS as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide medication management for inpatients, outpatients, hospital‑in‑the‑home and cancer care services.
• Support the Queensland Poisons Information Service by participating in 24‑hour emergency poisoning advice.
• Assist with aseptic compounding, clinical trials, and safety, quality and governance activities.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist or pharmacy graduate eligible for an internship.
• Willingness to work under supervision and develop paediatric pharmacy competencies.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and respect for diverse cultures.

Required skills

• Knowledge of paediatric medication dosing and safety.
• Understanding of pharmacy dispensing, compounding and clinical trial processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
