Intermediate Riggers for shutdown and maintenance projects

About the role

EnerMech is seeking experienced Intermediate Riggers to support local shutdown, maintenance and project opportunities across the Gladstone region. You will work on heavy industrial sites ensuring safe and efficient rigging, lifting and equipment movement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rigging, lifting, dogging, equipment movement and load placement activities.
• Support local shutdowns, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project scopes across industrial sites.
• Inspect, prepare and use lifting gear and rigging equipment in line with site requirements.
• Assist with crane lifts, dual lifts, equipment installation, removal and maintenance work fronts.
• Read and interpret lift plans, work packs, permits, risk assessments and task instructions.

Required profile

• High Risk Work Licence – Intermediate Rigging.
• Dogging ticket or demonstrated dogging experience.
• Proven experience as an Intermediate Rigger in shutdowns, maintenance, turnarounds or project work.
• Experience in LNG, oil & gas, mining, resources, power generation, alumina, refinery or similar heavy‑industrial environments.
• Current driver’s licence and relevant site inductions (White Card, working at heights, confined space, EWP, gas testing, first aid).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of rigging methods and lifting equipment.
• Ability to read and apply lift plans and safe work practices.
• Competence in dogging and equipment movement techniques.
• Effective communication with crane operators, doggers, supervisors and project teams.
