Insurance Solicitor / Associate

About the role

A Solicitor or Associate is sought to join the Insurance group in the Brisbane office, working under the supervision of reporting partner Georgina Wong. The role suits someone who wants to establish a long-term career in the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clients with legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and third-party contribution
• Review applicable case law and legislative changes regularly
• Carry out legal research and analysis to produce timely, commercially sound and legally accurate advice
• Attend settlement conferences and mediations
• Instruct counsel at court applications and trials
• Manage a robust workload, prioritise work and deliver services effectively
• Communicate with stakeholders to deliver good customer experiences
• Build an understanding of client operations and strategy, and develop prospective client relationships
• Keep up with professional development and manage MCLE requirements

Required profile

• 1+ years' PQE
• Strong work ethic, problem-solving, attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
• Natural ability to build client relationships and manage client expectations
• Ability to work in a team and relate to people at all levels
• Interest in a long-term career with Colin Biggers & Paisley
• Previous experience managing workers' compensation common law claims highly desirable
