Corporate M&A Solicitor / Senior Associate (3-6 PQE)

About the role

Mallesons is recruiting a Solicitor / Senior Associate (3-6 PQE) for its Corporate M&A team in Brisbane, working closely with Karim Issa and Rhys Casey. The role covers a mix of public and private M&A, equity capital markets (ECM) and corporate advisory work, with close collaboration with Corporate M&A teams across the Australian offices.

Key responsibilities

• Work on complex public and private transactions and advise the region's largest public and private companies and financial institutions
• Advise on private M&A and private equity, public company acquisitions including takeovers and schemes, major corporate reconstructions such as demergers, joint ventures, IPOs, secondary equity and debt capital raisings, and corporate governance and head office advisory
• Interface with clients, manage key workstreams and take an active role in client delivery
• Receive targeted mentoring from partners and senior lawyers and take part in business development and development programs

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience working on and executing transactions, with a key role in client interface and workstream management
• Experience in public M&A, private M&A, equity capital markets and general corporate advisory, with an emphasis on corporate law, listing rule compliance and governance
• First-rate experience drafting documents, including transaction documents, public disclosure documents and advices
• Strong analytical, communication and technical legal skills, with excellent client service and commercial awareness
• Openness to exploring how AI can help deliver for clients, and willingness to mentor and share knowledge
