Insurance & Risk Account Manager

About the role

As an Insurance & Risk Account Manager you will manage and grow a portfolio of Capricorn members, retaining existing business and identifying new opportunities through proactive, personalised account management. The role is hands‑on and field‑based, requiring regular face‑to‑face meetings to become a trusted adviser who understands each business’s operations, risks and protection needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, conducting on‑site visits to assess risks and recommend appropriate insurance and protection solutions.
• Drive portfolio growth by retaining existing business and uncovering new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Balance time on the road with disciplined portfolio management, follow‑up, compliance and accurate record‑keeping.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver responsive service and support sustainable revenue growth.

Required profile

• Proven insurance experience with the ability to understand business risks and propose suitable protection products.
• Strong field‑based, client‑facing background managing a portfolio and building long‑term relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑management skills, confident engaging business owners and decision‑makers.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and organised with the capacity to work autonomously across a territory.

Required skills

• RG146 Tier 1 Accreditation (mandatory).
• Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) and other business systems.
