Insolvency & Disputes Lawyer

About the role

A mid-size full-service law firm is hiring an insolvency and disputes lawyer with 3-10 years' experience to join its busy practice. The firm advises corporations, government departments, insolvency practitioners and individuals on commercial matters, and is based on Adelaide Street in Brisbane City.

Key responsibilities

• Advise a range of clients on insolvency and litigation matters, including bankruptcy, liquidation and restructuring.
• Manage a caseload of insolvency and litigation files, drafting legal documents and preparing for and appearing in Superior Courts.
• Work collaboratively with the insolvency partner and team.

Required profile

• 3-10 years' experience in commercial litigation, insolvency and/or financial services litigation.
• Ability to carry your own file load with the support and guidance of partners.
• Commercial approach: able to articulate and negotiate effectively, with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously within a team, with an open and collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Solid understanding and working knowledge of the UCPR.
• Solid understanding of the Corporations Act and the Bankruptcy Act.
• Advocacy experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and confident drafting skills.
