In‑House Legal Counsel – Technology & Commercial Agreements

About the role

KPMG Australia’s Office of General Counsel is seeking an in‑house Legal Counsel to support its rapidly expanding technology and commercial services. You will work closely with senior executives, including the General Counsel, to provide legal guidance on a wide range of technology‑focused agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on KPMG’s evolving technology solutions and service offerings.
• Review, draft and negotiate master services agreements, technology procurement, implementation, licensing, SaaS, managed services and outsourcing contracts.
• Advise on structuring and responding to tenders for service provision.
• Collaborate with client engagement teams, Risk Management, Privacy and IT Security groups.

Required profile

• Current Australian practising certificate.
• More than 3 years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or equivalent in‑house role, preferably in technology contracting.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Commercial acumen to blend legal analysis with business considerations.
• Project management, research, analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
• Flexibility, adaptability and a team‑oriented attitude, with the capacity to work independently.
