Independent Certifier Construction Manager

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a senior leader to deliver independent certification services on major infrastructure projects across South Australia. The role combines deep technical knowledge of design, construction and assurance with strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, schedule and budget compliance.
• Drive operational excellence through robust project governance, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Provide inspirational leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and professional development.
• Develop and execute business growth strategies to expand market presence in South Australia.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and profitability targets.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with government agencies, clients, contractors and consultants.
• Provide strategic advice throughout project lifecycles, helping clients navigate technical and commercial challenges.

Required profile

• Adelaide‑based with strong local market knowledge and networks.
• 20+ years experience on major infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges and tunnelling.
• Design & Engineering background, preferably complemented by construction experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diplomatic leadership style.
• Strong problem‑solving, risk mitigation and project governance capabilities.
