In-House Legal Counsel

About the role

ResourceCo is seeking a commercially minded In‑House Legal Counsel to join its legal team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will work closely with senior executives across the Group, providing practical legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and commercial legal advice across the ResourceCo Group.
• Manage corporate and commercial matters, including contract drafting and negotiation.
• Support executive and senior management with practical legal solutions that align with business objectives.
• Assist the Head of Legal with M&A transactions, major project tenders, property, disputes, regulatory, environmental, employment, and new business matters.
• Deliver legal training across the Group and maintain corporate, property, litigation, risk and insurance registers.
• Develop and share legal updates, tools, precedents and processes to improve the efficiency of the Legal function.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and drive positive change.
• Collaborate with the Head of Legal, other Legal Counsel and Paralegal in a supportive team environment.

Required profile

• Law degree with an unrestricted practising certificate (or eligibility for admission) in South Australia.
• 2–4 years post‑qualification experience in private practice or an in‑house legal team.
• Strong commercial focus with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Proactive, flexible and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.
