Import & Export Coordinator

About the role

Join Benmax’s new import/export desk and shape the way international freight is managed for large‑scale, high‑value equipment. You will build forwarder and carrier relationships, design booking processes, set documentation standards and oversee daily customs interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Book and coordinate sea and air freight for both import and export lanes, selecting mode and service to meet schedule and budget.
• Prepare and manage import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, declarations, certificates of origin) in line with customs and biosecurity requirements.
• Maintain day‑to‑day relationships with brokers and forwarders, providing instructions, document packs and following up on clearances.
• Track shipments from origin to delivery, identify delays early and provide reliable ETAs to project teams.
• Monitor container free time, empty returns and port storage to minimise demurrage, detention and storage costs.
• Ensure inbound goods arrive fully documented for correct receipt posting.
• Support Free Trade Zone and multi‑jurisdiction movements, escalating classification and compliance queries as needed.
• Analyse freight cost and service performance by lane and feed lead‑time data into S&OP planning.

Required profile

• Experience in international freight coordination (import and/or export) including bookings and documentation.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, customs documentation requirements, HS codes and tariff classification.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a developing function.
• High level of accuracy and deadline discipline when handling legally and financially critical documentation.
