ICU Registered Nurse - Eight Week Contract

About the role

Goulburn Health Service is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Intensive Care Unit at Goulburn Base Hospital in New South Wales. The position is an eight-week contract starting 2 November 2026 and ending 27 December 2026, with the nurse delivering high-acuity care to patients needing advanced respiratory support and renal management alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity intensive care setting, with exposure to ventilated patients and complex renal presentations
• Support patients requiring advanced respiratory support and renal management
• Work within a multidisciplinary team in a structured, supportive clinical environment

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrated experience working in an intensive care unit setting
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Competence in managing ventilated patients and familiarity with renal support therapies
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to respond promptly to changing patient acuity
• Preferred: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent with current AHPRA registration, post-graduate qualification or demonstrated critical care competency, and additional intensive care certifications
