ICT Support Officer

About the role

The ICT Support Officer provides high‑quality technical support, infrastructure maintenance and system administration for a primary school environment, ensuring a safe and reliable digital learning space.

Key responsibilities

• Provide desktop, hardware and software support to teachers, administration staff and students.
• Configure, image, deploy and maintain desktops, interactive whiteboards, laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, IP phones and printing hubs.
• Maintain network connectivity, including servers, Wi‑Fi access points and internet gateways; diagnose LAN/WAN, routing and switching issues.
• Administer user accounts in Google Workspace and other school platforms, enforce backups, patches and basic cybersecurity updates.
• Support educational technology portals, learning systems and student management tools; assist during specialised tech classes and digital assessments.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or 2‑3 years of commercial desktop/network support experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to primary staff and students.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and maintain precise documentation.
• Commitment to the Catholic education ethos and child safeguarding policies.

Required skills

• Windows desktop operating systems.
• Google Workspace administration and ChromeOS provisioning.
• Jamf Pro/School and Apple School Manager workflows.
• LAN/WAN routing and switching, Wi‑Fi access points, IP phones and printing hubs.
• Basic cybersecurity practices, backups and system patching.
