ICT Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia's Mission Software Systems team is looking for an ICT Engineer in Melbourne. You will design, deploy and sustain complex ICT infrastructure supporting critical programs and operational capabilities, working in a collaborative Agile environment to deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex technology networks and ICT systems, including installation and configuration of physical and virtual hardware, software and portable devices.
• Deploy and integrate infrastructure components such as servers, networking equipment and rack-based solutions, and keep network, rack and infrastructure documentation accurate.
• Implement cyber security requirements across infrastructure environments, including security hardening, ISM controls, firmware updates, patch management and security audits.
• Support Agile delivery by taking part in adaptive planning, user story development and estimation, and collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders and customers.

Required profile

• Experienced ICT Engineer with a passion for secure, reliable technology solutions.
• Experience designing, building and supporting complex ICT infrastructure, networks and systems.
• Ability to balance technical expertise with stakeholder engagement, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain the NV-1 security clearance required for the role; the role may also be subject to ITAR requirements.

Required skills

• Installing, configuring and managing physical and virtual hardware and software environments.
• Security hardening, patch management and ISM compliance across network and switching environments.
• Firmware updates, security audits and system maintenance.
• Creating network diagrams, rack layouts, infrastructure designs and deployment documentation.
• Diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio or similar.
• Agile practices, including user story development and story point estimation.
• Red Hat Linux, SharePoint and DOORS.
• Rack build, integration and installation.
• Advantageous: EPM document structures, highly secure or mission-critical environments, systems integration and modernisation, and large-scale engineering teams.
