IBM DataPower Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking an IBM DataPower Engineer to evaluate and upgrade existing DataPower Gateway implementations, ensuring secure and cost‑effective architectures for mission‑critical programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current IBM DataPower Gateway deployments and propose upgrade pathways aligned with business needs.
• Design scalable, secure, and cost‑effective architecture for upgraded DataPower environments.
• Manage data migration, validation and transition with minimal downtime and integrity assurance.
• Implement monitoring, backup, disaster recovery and governance using enterprise tools.
• Provide knowledge transfer and ongoing support to sustain operational readiness.

Required profile

• Demonstrated delivery of DataPower Gateway upgrades or implementations.
• Deep understanding of the IBM software stack and integration patterns.
• Hands‑on experience integrating DataPower with IBM platforms such as IBM Verify.
• Practical experience with automation using Bash, Korn Shell or Python.
• Experience with WebSphere, Db2, MQ, ACE or modern DevOps capabilities (CI/CD, containers, IaC).
