HVAC Technician – Sydney

About the role

A growing facilities management and trades team is recruiting an experienced HVAC Technician to service commercial and retail sites across Sydney. The role suits candidates based in or around the Eastern Suburbs, Western Sydney and Penrith, offering a stable position with a strong facilities management business.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventative, reactive and planned maintenance of heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems at client sites
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and maintain chillers, AHUs, FCUs and CRAC units
• Inspect and maintain refrigeration and chilled-water systems, and carry out routine equipment inspections
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders, and conduct building and plant inspections
• Assist with larger maintenance projects, coordinate and monitor subcontractors where required, and complete work orders, risk assessments and documentation
• Estimate labour, materials and time, and identify ways to complete work more efficiently and cost-effectively
• Work an after-hours roster and support emergency response and incident management when required

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced HVAC Technician, ideally with 3-5 years' experience in HVAC and refrigeration
• Relevant refrigeration or mechanical HVAC trade qualification
• Experience with commercial and/or retail facilities; experience with larger HVAC systems and chillers highly desirable
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability, able to work independently and manage a defined schedule
• Good understanding of WHS requirements and accurate, timely documentation
• Licences and qualifications highly regarded: current Australian driver licence, White Card, police check or ability to obtain, First Aid certificate, EWP under 11m, and relevant HVAC/refrigeration licences

What we offer

• Salary up to $115,000-$120,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
