HVAC Apprentice - Air Conditioning

About the role

Carrier Australia is looking for a motivated and reliable Air Conditioning Apprentice to join its team. You will combine on-the-job training with formal TAFE studies and learn from experienced HVAC technicians, working towards becoming a qualified Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician. The role covers installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of HVAC and air conditioning systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, servicing and maintenance of air conditioning and HVAC equipment.
• Learn to fault-find and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Support the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Learn to safely use hand and power tools.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Follow Carrier's health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Attend TAFE and complete all required apprenticeship training and assessments.
• Work professionally with customers and colleagues across customer sites.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in a career in air conditioning and refrigeration; no extensive industry experience needed.
• Hands-on person who enjoys working with tools and equipment.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to completing the apprenticeship.
• Willing to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
• Safety-conscious and good communicator who works well in a team.
• Customer-focused and able to solve problems with attention to detail.
• Eligible to work in Australia and holds a current driver's licence or is willing to obtain one.
