HR Officer

About the role

The HR Officer will support recruitment and HR administration for the Darwin Ship Lift Project, partnering with leaders and employees to deliver a high‑quality people experience in a dynamic construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for blue‑ and white‑collar roles, including advertising, sourcing, screening, reference checking and onboarding.
• Lead talent attraction initiatives such as market mapping and talent pooling for future workforce needs.
• Provide advice to managers on recruitment and general HR matters and support employee engagement, retention and workforce development.
• Coordinate training and professional development, maintain training records and databases, and manage project reporting for training, workforce participation and compliance.
• Assist with HR administration, employee movements, payroll enquiries and contribute to continuous improvement within HR.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
• Previous experience in recruitment, HR coordination or HR administration.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Confidence in learning new HR systems.
