House or Yard Maintenance Support Worker

About the role

The House or Yard Maintenance Support Worker assists NDIS participants with essential house and yard maintenance tasks they cannot perform themselves, helping them stay in a safe, clean and accessible living environment. The role is based in West and North Melbourne and follows NDIS guidelines and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general house maintenance, including minor repairs and upkeep
• Assist with yard maintenance such as lawn mowing, weeding, pruning and basic landscaping
• Keep outdoor areas safe and accessible for participants
• Clean external areas such as driveways, patios and walkways
• Identify and report safety hazards in the home or yard
• Work with participants to understand their specific maintenance needs and preferences
• Follow NDIS guidelines and safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and report incidents or concerns
• Communicate with participants, caregivers and other support team members

Required profile

• Previous experience in house or yard maintenance, landscaping or a similar field
• Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of NDIS policies and participant rights (desirable)
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation (desirable)
• Ability to lift, bend and stand for long periods, and to work outdoors in varying weather
