Hotel Front Office Receptionist

About the role

The Lakeside Hotel & Conference Centre is looking for a professional Front Office Receptionist to be the first point of contact for guests at the Wallumattagal Campus in North Ryde. You will ensure a warm welcome, smooth check‑in/out processes and high‑quality service throughout each guest’s stay.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming experience to all guests, visitors and clients.
• Manage arrivals and departures, including efficient check‑in and check‑out procedures.
• Process reservations, amendments, cancellations and guest requests accurately.
• Handle cash, EFTPOS and credit‑card transactions and complete financial procedures.
• Maintain accurate guest profiles and records in the hotel PMS.
• Liaise with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Functions, Maintenance and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with group bookings, conferences, functions and university‑related accommodation requirements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in a customer‑facing role, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to remain calm and resolve problems in challenging situations.
• Current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) card and unrestricted work rights in Australia.
• Willingness to work AM, PM, weekend and occasional night shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Opera Cloud PMS or another hotel property management system.
• Cash handling, EFTPOS and credit‑card transaction processing.
