Hospitalist (Victoria, BC)

About the role

The South Island Hospitalist group, in partnership with Island Health, seeks experienced hospitalists to join a dynamic, 24‑hour MRP service at Victoria General and Royal Jubilee Hospitals. You will care for a diverse adult population, ranging from young adults to seniors, across a broad spectrum of medical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous, inpatient acute care as part of a 24‑hour hospitalist service.
• Manage patients with addictions, palliative needs, geriatrics, and co‑manage surgical and rehabilitation cases.
• Participate in undergraduate and resident teaching, weekly CME rounds, and mentorship programs.
• Optionally contribute to specialty programs such as Inpatient MAID, Hospital at Home, and Rapid Assessment & Discharge short‑stay unit.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic interest in acute care medicine.
• Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to engage in teaching and continuous learning.
• Open to a six‑week refresher program for physicians returning to acute care after a break.
