Hospital Veterinary Nurse – Inpatient Care & Clinical Coordination

About the role

The Hospital Veterinary Nurse will manage and coordinate inpatient care at ARH Homebush, working closely with specialists, emergency clinicians and nursing teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily inpatient patient flow and assessments across the hospital.
• Administer medications, fluid therapy, blood products and prescribed treatments.
• Manage feeding tubes, nutritional support plans and facilitate diagnostics, procedures and discharges.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with clinicians and support staff.

Required profile

• Experience in referral, emergency, specialty or hospital‑based veterinary nursing.
• Strong patient assessment, monitoring and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple patients and competing priorities.
• Proactive, patient‑focused attitude with a commitment to high clinical standards.

Required skills

• Administration of medications, fluids, blood products and advanced treatments.
• Use of diagnostic equipment such as CT and MRI scanners.
• Documentation and record‑keeping in a clinical setting.
