Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) - PGY3+ Preferred

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is recruiting Hospital Medical Officers (HMO) for full-time ongoing positions starting 1 February 2027. Appointments are ongoing unless subject to visa and working-rights restrictions; reappointment is limited to 12 months for those with valid working visas and depends on satisfactory term assessments. All HMO appointments include a secondment to another health service, which may be local or rural and up to 3 hours away.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligibility for provisional registration through the Competent Authority Pathway.
• 3 years of postgraduate experience (PGY3+) or above by the commencement date; provisional registrants must apply via the JR8021 form.
• Satisfactory criminal history record check and Working With Children check.
