About the role
The Hospital in the Home (HiTH) Medical Registrar position is a fixed‑term/full‑time role based at Werribee Mercy Hospital, starting November 2026. It is accredited for RACGP Extended Skills and suitable for doctors pursuing physician or emergency medicine training.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Hospital in the Home programme under daily consultant supervision.
- Collaborate with HITH consultants, resident medical officers and senior nurses to manage patient treatment plans.
- Participate in bi‑weekly training sessions and broader hospital education activities.
Required profile
- Valid APHRA medical registration.
- Commitment to patient‑centred care with strong clinical, organisational and communication abilities.
- Willingness to provide a current Police Record Check, Working with Children Check and proof of influenza and other required vaccinations.
Required skills
- Clinical competence in general practice and ambulatory care settings.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to evolving patient needs.
