Hospital Catering Assistant

About the role

The Hospital Catering Assistant will join the Hotel Services team at Macquarie University Hospital, delivering outstanding food service to patients, staff and visitors on a casual basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals for patients, visitors and staff with a focus on presentation and hospitality.
• Ensure patient dietary needs are met and communicated promptly to the team.
• Maintain strong customer relations and address service concerns quickly.
• Adhere to hospital policies, HACCP program and food hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Reliable, detail‑oriented and punctual team player.
• Ability to communicate patient dietary requirements to the Executive Chef.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, especially weekends.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards.
