Hospital Assistant / Cleaner

About the role

HammondCare provides aged care, home care, dementia care and palliative care in NSW, including its hospitals. The Cleaner role works within the Mission and Mission in Action to keep the hospital clean and tidy so that patients, visitors and staff stay safe. NSW Health transferrable entitlements are recognised.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver efficient and effective cleaning across all areas of the hospital to provide a clean environment and minimise healthcare-associated infections
• Support patient-centred care by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Required profile

• Experience as a cleaner in a health or aged care environment (desirable)
• Able to follow directions and complete tasks
• Capable of working autonomously and liaising with staff, volunteers, patients and visitors
• Multicultural sensitivity or experience in a multicultural setting (desirable)

Required skills

• Written and spoken English, for example reading chemical labels and writing simple daily reports or Riskman entries
• Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and patients
