High Voltage (HV) Technician

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a skilled and safety‑focused High Voltage (HV) Technician to join the maintenance team at MacIntyre Wind Farm, one of Australia’s largest renewable energy projects. Reporting to the Works Supervisor, you will help ensure the reliability and performance of the wind farm’s Balance of Plant infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on BOP assets, including substations, high‑voltage reticulation, communication networks, auxiliary systems, site services, roads and civil infrastructure.
• Carry out HV and substation inspections, testing, repairs and switching operations.
• Support road, drainage and civil infrastructure maintenance and repair.
• Inspect wind turbines and conduct minor maintenance tasks as required.
• Monitor contractors to ensure safe, compliant work and maintain accurate records in Maximo and HSEQ systems.
• Participate in shutdown planning, project activities and continuous improvement initiatives, and join an on‑call roster for 24/7 operations.

Required profile

• Electrical trade qualification with 3‑5 years post‑trade experience.
• QLD “A Grade” Electrical Licence or ability to obtain one.
• Current manual driver’s licence and willingness to travel to other renewable sites.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.

Required skills

• Experience with high‑voltage systems and substations.
• Proficiency in using Maximo maintenance management software.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
• First Aid Level 2 certification.
• Working at Heights certification.
• HV Operator accreditation under ACCIONA’s Work Permitting System.
