High Voltage Technician – Renewable Energy

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is looking for a skilled, safety‑focused High Voltage (HV) Technician to join the maintenance team at the MacIntyre Wind Farm, one of Australia’s largest renewable energy projects. Reporting to the Works Supervisor, you will help ensure the reliability and performance of critical BOP infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across Balance of Plant (BOP) assets.
• Conduct HV and substation inspections, maintenance, repairs, and testing.
• Carry out HV switching operations and system manoeuvres.
• Support inspections, maintenance, and repair of roads, drainage, and civil infrastructure.
• Undertake wind turbine inspections and minor maintenance works as required.
• Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure safe, standards‑compliant work.
• Maintain accurate records in Maximo and other HSEQ management systems.
• Participate in shutdown planning, project activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a strong safety, environmental, and quality culture on site.
• Participate in an on‑call roster supporting 24/7 operations.

Required profile

• Electrical trade qualification.
• 3–5 years of post‑trade experience.
• QLD “A Grade” Electrical Licence or ability to obtain one (highly regarded).
• Experience with HV systems, substations, industrial facilities, or power generation assets.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Willingness to travel to other renewable energy sites as required.
• Current or obtainable certifications: First Aid Level 2, Working at Heights, HV Operator accreditation under ACCIONA’s Work Permitting System.
