Heavy-Duty Mechanic – Australia Opportunity

About the role

Takora Human Capital, representing our Australian client, is seeking experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanics for opportunities in Australia. The successful candidates will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault‑finding and repair of heavy‑duty vehicles, mobile equipment and associated mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance.
• Conduct mechanical servicing and component replacement.
• Diagnose faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems and other mechanical components.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records and test equipment after repairs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant Heavy‑Duty Mechanic experience.
• Relevant qualification in Heavy‑Duty/Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics or a related trade.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and specifications.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills.
