About the role

The South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Mental Health is recruiting Health Service Medical Practitioners for its Psychiatry Department at Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service. You will provide comprehensive general practice assessment and treatment services to clients while championing patient safety and high-quality care. The role works within the scope of clinical practice defined by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general practice assessment and treatment services to clients
• Work with the Head of Service and Consultant Psychiatrists to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets
• Operate within the scope of clinical practice set out by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee

Required profile

• Valid Australian work rights; permanent appointments may be made to citizens, permanent residents or visa holders
• Ability to meet the essential criteria listed in the attached Job Description Form
• Eligible candidates are placed in a talent pool for future vacancies, active until 31 January 2028
