Health and Physical Education Teacher

About the role

St Francis Xavier College, a large 7-12 comprehensive Catholic secondary school serving Canberra for nearly 50 years, is looking for a dedicated Health and Physical Education teacher. The position suits someone able to teach HPE from Years 7 to 12; knowledge and experience of teaching senior years is favourable. The salary range is $94,596 to $141,638 plus superannuation, depending on years of teaching service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach the Health and Physical Education course to students in Years 7 to 12.
• Keep up to date with curriculum changes and develop new teaching resources.
• Contribute professionally and collegially to the HPE team.
• Use technology effectively in the classroom and commit to professional development.

Required profile

• Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• Bachelor of Education or Master in Teaching.
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance.
• ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
• Accreditation under Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
