Head of Purpose (Director) – People & Purpose

About the role

Deloitte Australia is creating a new senior leadership position to unify its enterprise Purpose agenda, bringing together Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Social Impact and Indigenous initiatives under one strategic leader. Reporting to the Chief People and Purpose Officer, the Head of Purpose will shape a firm‑wide strategy that drives measurable impact for the firm, its clients and the broader community.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a cohesive Purpose strategy with clear priorities, outcomes and governance.
• Integrate separate DEI, Social Impact and Indigenous programs into a single, outcome‑focused approach.
• Lead a high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary team across the three purpose pillars.
• Translate strategy into actionable plans and ensure delivery across a complex, matrixed organisation.
• Identify new partnerships, approaches or investments that accelerate impact.
• Advise the Executive team and Board on progress, trade‑offs and strategic priorities.
• Embed Purpose considerations into business decisions, client relationships and brand positioning.
• Align stakeholders across Business Units, Growth and People & Purpose to maintain momentum.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in social impact, DEI, Indigenous affairs or related fields.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale change and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with execution capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior executives.
• Passion for inclusion, social impact and Indigenous outcomes.
