Head of Learning Enhancement - Junior School

About the role

Oxley Christian College is seeking a Head of Learning Enhancement for its Junior School, commencing in January 2027. The role supports teaching and learning practices across Prep to Year 6 and helps students with diverse learning needs, including EAL, literacy and numeracy support, the NCCD, literacy and numeracy extensions, and GATE. It is a full-time, ongoing position (1.0 FTE) reporting to the Head of Junior School.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Learning Enhancement team and oversee programs delivered in flexible formats such as withdrawal, small group work and in-class support.
• Support teachers with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Modified Curriculum Plans (MCPs) for students with additional needs.
• Show thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and the NCCD, and accommodate students with specific learning needs.
• Manage referrals and administer screening tool assessments, and oversee student access to programs.
• Coordinate meetings with parents and staff, and support transitions of students with additional learning needs to the next year level.
• Document and manage confidential records of planning, meetings and reports.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Master's degree in Special Education or a degree specialising in Special Education, with experience in a similar position.
• Right to work in Australia; applicants without it cannot apply.
