Head Chef - FIFO 2:2 Roster, Queensland

About the role

Sodexo is recruiting Head Chefs for FIFO (fly-in-fly-out) positions based in Cairns, Queensland, with a 14 days on, 14 days off roster. The role involves leading bulk cooking operations on remote sites and managing operations profitability, budgets and food quality standards. It is a full-time position with 11 hours per shift on a 2:2 roster.

Key responsibilities

• Lead bulk cooking operations on remote sites with top-tier quality and safety standards
• Manage operations profitability, budgets and food quality standards (HACCP compliance)
• Foster team growth in a dynamic, diverse environment while maintaining client relationships

Required profile

• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or full Australian working rights
• Trade certificate or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Proven experience leading a team in mass-catering environments, including preparing meals for breakfast, dinner, crib and pastries
• HACCP expertise combined with strong leadership and organisational skills
• Flexibility and reliability, as the FIFO roles require working across a variety of roles and duties in the Northern Territory
• Candidates must be local to the advertised location or willing to relocate at their own expense
