Gym Services Officer

About the role

Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic Centre (GSAC) and Switch 24/7 Gym is looking for a Fitness/Gym Services Officer. This is a permanent part-time position of 35 hours per week, with the option of additional hours as they become available. You will work alongside the Gym and Fitness Coordinator to create a positive member experience, keep the gym running smoothly and motivate members to reach their health and fitness goals.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and support members throughout their fitness journey
• Deliver exceptional customer service and build a positive gym culture
• Provide encouragement, guidance and motivation to members
• Support the day-to-day operations of Switch 24/7 Gym
• Assist with fitness promotions, programs and marketing initiatives
• Contribute to a safe, clean and engaging fitness environment

Required profile

• Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness, or an equivalent Sport and Exercise Science bachelor degree
• First Aid certificate with CPR (current)
• Working with Children Check (applicant responsible for obtaining it before starting)
• At least 2 years' experience as a Group Fitness Instructor
• Hands-on experience developing campaigns and promotions
• Nice to have: current driver's licence, knowledge of recreation centre operations, marketing/advertising and social media content or website design experience
