Group Financial Controller - PE backed SaaS

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will own reporting and control across a PE‑backed SaaS business, ensuring the board and investors receive trustworthy numbers while shaping finance as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Run month‑end close, group consolidation, statutory reporting and the annual audit.
• Prepare monthly board and PE sponsor reporting packs.
• Manage AASB 15 revenue recognition, capitalised development costs and R&D Tax Incentive claims.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow forecasting and support due‑diligence for funding or M&A.
• Track SaaS metrics such as revenue growth, gross margin and customer retention.
• Strengthen the control environment as headcount and transaction volumes grow.
• Lead a scalable ERP migration and automate reporting.
• Build and develop a small finance team.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with Big 4 training.
• 8+ years post‑qualification experience, including leading a team.
• SaaS experience in a start‑up or scale‑up, building finance processes.
• Group reporting and consolidation experience in a PE or VC‑backed business.
• Solid technical knowledge of AASB 15, capitalised development costs and R&D Tax Incentive claims.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic attitude, comfortable rolling up sleeves.
