Graduate Software Engineer – Platform & DevOps (Melbourne)

About the role

Alinta Energy is looking for a Graduate Software Engineer to join its Customer Technology Team in Melbourne. The two‑year graduate program offers hands‑on experience in platform engineering, DevOps and cloud technologies, with rotations across different teams before settling into a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Develop and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on Microsoft Azure.
• Write infrastructure‑as‑code to support scalable systems.
• Assist development teams with deployments, integrations and technical troubleshooting.
• Contribute to shared platform services used across the business.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (or about to graduate) with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in DevOps, cloud and modern engineering practices.
• Ability to break down problems and think logically.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently with guidance.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills.
